Everyone learns about money differently. Some people get it quickly. Some people do not understand basic principles about money even as adults.
You can help your child along their path to understanding money by allowing thier opinion in some financial decisions. A good place to start would be the grocery store. Together you can compare and contrast store or generic brands to name brands. Have fun with ‘blind taste tests’ similar to the commercials we see on television. With any money that is saved by purchasing the less expensive product, place it in a clear jar that can be monitored. Over time the benefits of careful shopping will be seen adding up.
